Material Selection

Wooden broom handles are typically crafted from hardwoods such as eucalyptus, bamboo, or other sturdy and durable woods. These materials are chosen for their ability to withstand daily wear and tear without breaking easily. Eucalyptus, known for its rapid growth, uniform texture, and moderate hardness, is commonly used due to its eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness.

Manufacturing Process

In production, raw logs are first cut to suitable lengths, followed by a series of steps including bark removal, sanding, and drying. These measures ensure a smooth surface, resistance to cracking and mold. Some products undergo additional plastic coating, where a layer of PVC or another protective material is applied to the wooden shaft, enhancing durability, improving grip, and preventing moisture absorption, thereby reducing the risk of rot.

Size & Design

Wooden broom handles come in a variety of sizes to cater to different types of brooms and user needs. The common diameter ranges from 2.0 to 2.5 centimeters, with lengths varying between 35 and 120 centimeters. Certain designs incorporate features like Italian threads or hooks, facilitating easy replacement of brush heads and enhancing practicality.

Environmental Friendliness

Wooden broom handles, made from natural materials, are more environmentally friendly compared to plastic alternatives. When sourced from sustainably managed forests, they further minimize environmental impact. Additionally, being biodegradable, wooden products reduce landfill burdens upon disposal.
